GREAT letter - there has been an alarming trend in the last however many years in our country of people saying "if they don't like it they can go somewhere else" whether it relates to people with different religions, skin colors, political views, etc. Thank god that our Supreme Court did not follow that type of reasoning when it addressed racial issues in the 1950's and 1960's.

Hear, hear! I second those emotions completely. "American traditions" from a country barely 200 years old and consisting of every race, religion and heritage (practically speaking) on earth? It's an oxymoron. I grow intensely tired of these faux "patriots" who only attempt to mask their fear and bigotry by wrapping themselves in the flag.
